INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

“Yoga is the journey where breath meets movement, body meets mind and unlocks a path to holistic well-being”. Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2025 with great enthusiasm and spirit to promote physical and mental well-being among students. A special assembly was organized to mark the occasion, highlighting the power of yoga in not only enhancing personal health but also contributing to social well-being. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal Ms.P.Kanchana Valli who emphasized that Yoga instils healthy habits early on and also helps students to improve their focus, develop resilience and a sense of calmness. This was followed by a brief talk by the student on the significance of Yoga, highlighting its roots in Indian Culture and its benefits in today’s fast-paced life. Students then took a solemn Yoga Day Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to incorporate Yoga in their daily lives. The entire school actively participated in a well-coordinated Yoga session which included standing and sitting asanas, performed under the guidance of trained instructors. Students also energetically participated in Surya Namaskar, demonstrating focus and discipline. A vibrant stage performance by selected students showcased a variety of Yoga asanas reflecting balance, strength and flexibility. Adding to the day’s events students from classes VI to X performed Chair Yoga creatively integrating Yoga within classroom settings. To encourage reflective thinking and expression an Essay Writing Competition was also conducted on the “International Yoga Day” where students penned their thoughts about the importance of Yoga in everyday life. The celebration not only emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyle but also instilled a sense of discipline, focus and mindfulness among students. The school continues to inspire young minds to adopt Yoga as a lifelong practice for holistic well-being.
