This was followed by an array of items beginning with a Prayer Song and Welcome Dance, skit, song and dance performances as the students paid their tribute to teachers.

Also true to culture and tradition an ancient shloka was recited by the students to express their portrayal of the Teachers:

Guru Vishnu (who nurtures and fosters the qualities of goodness)
Guru Devo Maheswara (who weeds out the bad qualities)
Guru Saaksat Param Brahma (the supreme Brahman itself)
Tasmai Shri Guruve Namaha (prostration unto that Guru)

The Chairman, Sri A. Murali Mukund and the Secretary, Sri. Harishchandra Prasad graced the occasion with their presence. The Chairman, Sri A. Murali Mukund, in his address to the Teachers and students congratulated the Teachers and motivated them to consciously update and upgrade themselves with the current advancements in all the subjects and aspects relating to a student. He stressed that today a Teacher has to grow beyond being a ‘Facilitator’ to complete a Syllabus, to one being a true ’Guru’ in moulding and infusing the child with knowledge, passion and intelligence, inspired and motivated to rise to higher levels in all facets of life. The teacher should be one with passion and compassion towards the student. He advised the student to be respectful, cooperative and humble towards his teacher to make an ideal relationship.

VAN MAHOTSAV, 2021

JHPS GOES GREEN!!!,

‘Go green today so there will be a tomorrow.’,

The verve and synergy with which the students of JHPS celebrated Van Mohatsav Day on 14th July, 2021 through the virtual platform has left its indelible mark on the chronicles of JHPS.

The celebration began with the Lighting of the Lamp to evoke the blessings of the Almighty by the Vice-Principal, Ms. Kanchana Valli and the Co-ordinators of the school. This was followed by a mesmerising rendition by the students of the Classes VI –VIII to epitomise the vital role nature plays through its flora and fauna thus exuding a selfless advantage for mankind.

The tiny-tots of the Pre-Primary never outdone, dressed in green and red head-gear radiated contagious enthusiasm and zeal through their colouring activities and stole hearts away.

A melodious dance rendition by the students of the Primary Section synchronised rhythm and reality to heights of surreal serenity and tranquillity multifarious in Nature. In contrast a jolt back to reality was a skit enacted by the students of Class IX and X. The skit portrayed man’s apathy to nature, his insatiate materialistic desire, seeking more regardless of the surge in industrialisation to cause a severe imbalance in Nature.

Environment Revolution begins with Greening your Home thus your Motherland; remarkably demonstrated by the students of Classes VIII – X. The simple action of tending to a garden can ripen into a habit to culminate with ‘add years to your life and life to your years’. It was an overwhelming effort to advocate conservation to ensure and sustain an ecological balance between man and nature.

The winners of the Poster-Making and Slogan–Writing Competitions were applauded for their skill expressed through colours and play of words.

The Chairman, Sri A. Murali Mukund and the Secretary, Sri. Harishchandra Prasad graced the occasion with their presence. They appreciated the combined efforts of the students, encouraged and inspired each and every student to become the emissary for a green environment of today for a greener tomorrow.

Parents expressed their gratitude to the Management and Teachers for organizing such a stupendous event enriching their children with the significance of Van Mohatsav.

Regards
