WORKSHOP – “EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING”

Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad hosted an insightful and engaging session on “Experiential Learning” which was conducted by Ms. Divya Lakhera, a passionate educator and advocator of hands-on, student-centered education. The session took place on 9th June, 2025, and it proved to be an enriching experience for all the participants.

Ms. Lakhera began the session by emphasizing on the importance of moving beyond traditional methods of instruction and embracing learning by doing. She explained how experiential learning bridges the gap between theory and practice, helping students internalize concepts more deeply through real-life applications, simulations, projects, and reflective activities.

Throughout the session, she illustrated key strategies to implement experiential learning in classrooms, including:

  • Activity-based and project-based learning
  • Role-playing and simulations
  • Field visits and real-world observations
  • Integration of arts, storytelling, and group work
  • Reflective journaling and discussions

The session was filled with interactive activities and thought-provoking discussions that encouraged educators to reinvent their teaching practices. Ms. Lakhera also shared inspiring success stories and classroom examples that highlighted the positive impact of experiential learning on student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking.

Teachers appreciated the practical takeaways and ready-to-use strategies that could be adapted to different grade levels and subjects. Teachers also shared their classroom experiences and challenges, receiving valuable feedback from Ms. Lakhera.
