Yoga Day celebrations were held at Jubilee Hills Public School on June 21, 2022 in the school grounds during the special assembly. The main focus of these celebrations was to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual effects that yoga brings in.
Ms. M. Varalakshmi, Principal JHPS, Ms. Kanchana Valli, Vice Principal, Staff and students from classes 6 to 12 attended the event. The Principal welcomed the students to the Yoga Day celebrations and emphasized the importance of Yoga in one’s daily routine. Ms. Megha Chavan, Secondary Science teacher, briefed the students about the origin and significance of Yoga.
A group of students performed a few basic yoga postures which were repeated zealously by all the students and staff present there. While addressing the gathering Ms Kanchana Valli, hoped the students would continue to participate in all the events and activities in the current academic year with the same enthusiasm.
The programme concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem by everyone present there.

Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad, organized a Parent Orientation Programme on 18th June’22 for the parents of Class 11 and 12 students. The Chief Guest for the programme was Shri Shailendra Kumar Joshi, IAS (Retd), former Chief Secretary, Govt Of Telangana, It was also attended by Shri A Murali Mukund, Chairman, Jubilee Hills Public School, Mr. Soumen Chatterjee, Chairperson Kompass Academy, Dr.Sharath Garemella , Dean and Director, Kompass Academy, Ms. M.Varalakshmi, Principal, JHPS , Ms. Kanchana Valli, Vice Principal, parents, staff and students of classes 10, 11 and 12.
The Principal extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries present and highlighted the various contributions made by the Chairman, Sri A Murali Mukund to fulfil the vision of the school.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest Shri S.K.Joshi launched the book ‘Constitution of India’ which is a ready reckoner for students. This handy and pocket-friendly book has been published by Jubilee Hills Public School. Shri S.K.Joshi also spoke about the need to inculcate life skills and livelihood skills in the students to help them achieve their goals.
As another landmark initiative by the School Management, the school has collaborated with Kompass Academy to provide Integrated Commerce Program to the students of Classes 11 and 12 from this academic year. Kompass Academy is a professional Management Academy that identifies the underlying skills of the students and helps them in equipping themselves for various career choices ahead.
Mr. Soumen Chatterjee, the chairperson of Kompass Academy, introduced the students to various facilities and training methodologies provided through this integrated programme. He also motivated the young minds by sharing the inspirational journeys of a few eminent commerce professionals. He stressed on the importance of hard work and commitment in the students to face various challenges in life. Dr. Sharath Garemella, Dean & Director, Kompass Academy, encouraged the students to ‘Play with your strengths’.
The presentations were followed by a Question-Answer session. Queries put forth by parents and students were answered by Mr. Soumen Chatterjee and Dr. Sharath Garemella.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks which was proposed by the Vice Principal, Ms. Kanchana Valli.
